Innovating Sustainability: HiPer-Materials Transforming the Future

Alina Ruonala-Lindgren, VTT

We are thrilled to introduce our latest advancements in sustainable materials with the launch of our two new HiPer-material demos. We wanted to showcase the versatility and potential of HiPer biocomposite materials.

The ISKU Office Chair: A Revolution in Workplace Comfort and Sustainability

In collaboration with ISKU, we’ve reimagined the office chair. This isn’t just any chair; it’s a symbol of what’s possible when design meets sustainability. Made from HiPer biocomposite materials, this chair demonstrates that eco-friendly products can achieve the highest standards of quality and comfort. The chair’s seat can be processed using standard woodworking tools, proving that sustainability can seamlessly integrate into existing manufacturing processes.

The HiPer Suitcase: Redefining Travel Gear

Our second demo features a suitcase made entirely from HiPer biocomposite material. It’s demonstrates that our innovative materials can withstand the rigors of travel while being kind to the planet. The molding process, utilizing heat and pressure, showcases the material’s adaptability and strength, making it an excellent candidate for a wide range of applications.

A Material for the Future

HiPer-materials can be processed with normal wood-working tools, function in conventional converting processes, and are compatible with industrial tools. This opens up a world of possibilities for using HiPer-materials in various end uses, from furniture to automotive parts, without compromising on performance or aesthetics. In the end-of-life the material can be recycled in plastic streams.
