HiPer consortium forms a strong value chain of 9 Finnish companies which give good opportunities for commercialization of developed solutions. The consortium consist of raw material suppliers (CH-Polymers and Metsä Fibre), machine suppliers (Valmet and Sulzer), material producer (Paptic), product manufacturers (Volar Plastic and NMC Cellfoam) and end users (ISKU and Koskisen). The consortium is strengthened with a wide international network of partners, which further expands the expertise available for the research work carried out in HiPer. HiPer project is linked and supported by ExpandFibre and Beyond Circularity ecosystems, and funded by Business Finland.

Accelerating the development of sustainable bioproducts, ExpandFibre (2020-2024) is a joint 50 M€ R&D collaboration launched by Fortum and Metsä Group and co-funded by Business Finland. It focuses on upgrading pulp fibre, hemicellulose and lignin from renewable and sustainable sources of straw and northern wood into new bioproducts. Its ambition is to meet the growing demands for sustainable textile fibres and other added value biomaterials.
